Be a Study Buddy!

Every day:


1. Check any of your partner’s assignments that we correct together in class.

2. Check your partner’s desk and binders for neatness.  Desktop must be clean, and floor area around the desk must be cleared before your partner leaves for the day.

3. Check that your partner has completed the day’s work, and is taking the unfinished things for homework.

4. Be sure that homework details are clearly outlined in your partner’s planner.  Initial your partner’s planner every day.

5. The next day, before 9:05 a.m., check that your partner’s homework has been completed.  Let your teacher know right away if there is a problem.
 

Every week:


1. Monday:
a)  Check that your partner’s Weekend Homework sheet has been returned, and that it has been initialed by the parent.
b) Check your partner’s spelling pretest carefully.  Ensure that your partner writes out errors correctly at least three times each.

2. Wednesday:
a) Be sure that your partner’s spelling unit work is complete.
b) Be sure that the weekly Language Power assignment is complete.

3. Thursday:
a)  When the weekly spelling test has been marked and returned to your partner, ensure that the Difficult Words are transcribed accurately onto the ongoing study list.
b) Ensure that your partner has completed the week’s RDJ entry.  Write a short comment back in the RDJ.
c) Ensure that your partner’s reading log is complete for the week, and Initial it.

4. Friday:
a)  Before assembly, dictate your partner’s Difficult Words and check to ensure that they are mastered.
b) Does your partner have any math corrections to complete by Monday?
c) Before you leave for the weekend, fill out your partner’s Weekend Homework form.  Ensure that your partner takes it home to be initialed.
 

Whenever your partner is absent from class:


a) Take note of all missed assignments, and be sure to get copies of handouts for your partner. Be sure your partner shares your study notes.
b) Pass on information about tests and assignment deadlines.
c) Collect and arrange for your partner’s homework to go home, if necessary.
